No. 23 / Summer 2013

A very Summery Mix for you all. If you happen to find yourself lounging poolside and working on your tan, then this mix is pretty much perfect. I had this mix on repeat during the heat wave we had the past week and even though I didn't leave my AC filled studio, I still got the feel of Summer. I do not function well in extreme heat. I am not tropical, I am not a toucan.

Photo above was taken on my way to Big Sur, CA. The California coast is quite stunning.

No. 22 / Spring 2013

This Spring 2013 mix will hopefully get you into a toe-tapping mood when transitioning into some warmer weather. It's filled with some great artists that we featured in our previous mixes, like Devendra Banhart, Born Ruffians, Alex Winston, Kishi Bashi etc. They just keep coming out with some great stuff, can't get enough of it. When we were adding songs to this mix, we've realized a lot of the songs we were adding featured female vocalists. Yay for talented ladies out there who are making some great music!

On a side note, I think Cocovan is pretty much the best name ever. ( try to pronounce it in French)
If you can catch Kishi Bashi live, I'd suggest you go. He's fantastic and mesmerizing. Also, I stumbled onto this the other day. All I can say is if this is the music elementary school kids listen and sing to these days, we have a bright future ahead of us.

Photo above was taken during a quick weekend trip to Portland, Maine.

No. 21 / Winter 2012-2013

The 2012-2013 Winter playlist is here! We had a busy Winter season in the studio and I had this mix endlessly playing in the background. It's the perfect soundtrack for my long countless hours of crafting. This mix starts of slow and then it speeds up to some head bopping and toe tapping, I've even bust a move to it once or twice.
I've included singles from Matt Pond and Ra Ra Riot. They are one of my all time favorites and can't wait for Ra Ra Riot's new album this coming year!

Photo above was taken during the first snow of the season. The view outside my studio.

No. 20 / Fall 2012

Our Fall 2012 mix is finally finished. When we make our mixes, we compile all of our favorite songs we've been listening to into a playlist. Then we spend weeks replaying the mix and eliminating ones that don't really work well together. The mixes are highly curated and with this Fall mix, there is a nice collection and the order of the songs creates a nice ebb and flow. ( I hope)

The album art is a photo taken with my phone during a weekend stroll in Park Slope. It's still early in the season so the leaves haven't changed color yet.
